Since I did read Battle Royale WAAAAAYYY back when (I recommend it to fellow HG readers and readers in general), I did intitally realize that Hunger Games (while reading it) does fall under somewhat similar premise. 

I did get sucked into the Hunger Games books (no hiding that), they are quite entertaining. Battle Royale was on a bit more serious level, and had a more creepy/scary feel to it (I did really like BR a whole lot too).

I have never seen the BR movie, but from the book/manga I would assume it would be pretty gory.

Although reading the HG…it is gets on a pretty graphic level with the arena stuff too…(found my self shivering at some death descriptions)
